Beaufort Branch Library hosts winter events

The Beaufort Branch Library is hosting a variety of events for children, adults, book lovers, movie lovers, Hitchcock-enthusiasts, and even a presentation of significant women who impacted the course of Beaufort County’s past in a “National Women’s History” month presentation.

The following is a schedule of upcoming events in January and February at the Beaufort Branch Library, 311 Scott Street, downtown Beaufort.

Fun Winter Events for Children at the Beaufort Branch Library: 

Junior Book Club with Darlene, Ages 7-9
Join us to discuss the book of your choice every week!  Registration is required. No fee.
Every Tuesday from 1:30pm-2:30pm (runs January 21st through March 22nd)

Toddler Time with Darlene
Join us for stories, finger plays, crafts and sing alongs! Ages 2-3. Registration is required.  No fee.
Every Wednesday from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM (runs January 21st through March 22nd)

Lapsit with Scott
Join Mr. Scott and Boo and sing songs, read stories and enjoy the bubbles with your babies!  Ages 0-24 months. Registration not required.  No fee.
Every Wednesday from 11:15am-11:45am (runs January 21st through March 22nd)

Storytime with Darlene, Ages 4-6
Join us for stories, songs and crafts! Ages 4-6. Registration is required.  No fee.
Every Thursday from 1:30pm-2:30pm (runs January 21st through March 22nd)

A Chinese New Year Celebration
Celebration of Chinese New Year with a cultural event featuring stories, crafts and music.
Tuesday, February 12th, 4:30-5:30pm
No fee, and everyone is welcome! No registration required but limited to the first 50 children.

Alfred Hitchcock Film Series
Join us for the showing of classic Alfred Hitchcock movies on the BIG SCREEN!

Author Book Talk
Join us for “The Need for Amazing Grace: The Trials and Tribulations of Writing a Church History” with Roy Flannagan, one of the authors of the recently published history of The Parish Church of St. Helena.  Dealing with “Too Much Information” (mistresses, KKK, slavery, etc.) can be real pill!

Join BDC Manager, Grace Cordial, for a survey of some of the significant women who impacted the course of Beaufort County’s past in this “National Women’s History” month presentation highlighting our special collections and archival materials.
