Beaufort High Cheer Squad to host Basketball Cheer Clinic
Students in pre-kindergarten through middle school are invited to learn basketball cheers, chants, jumps and a dance from Beaufort High cheerleaders during the winter Cheer Clinic on February 1st.
Clinic participants will be invited to perform during halftime of the Beaufort High boys’ varsity basketball game February 4th and admission to the game is free for the cheer clinic student.
“Our cheer clinics provide a great opportunity for the younger students to mix with our Beaufort High cheerleaders, learn basketball cheers and chants, and hopefully to plant seeds for our future cheerleaders, ” said BHS Varsity Cheer Coach Corrie Zimmerman.
“It’s fun to know that a number of our varsity and JV cheerleaders today were participants in these cheer clinics when they were in elementary and middle school,” she said. “It pays off in a lot of ways–mainly in everyone having fun.”
The clinic, held at Beaufort High’s gym from 1-4pm costs $35 which includes instruction, a cheer clinic Tishirt, group photo and refreshments.
Before, after and during breaks in the clinic, beads, pompoms, hair ribbons and other accessories will be sold. Individual photo buttons are made upon request. Check-in for the clinic starts at 12:30 p.m. While pre-registration has been strongly encouraged because there is limited space, walk-ins will be accepted the day of the event on a space-available basis.
