Hunting Island Beach access is Back Open to the public!
Hurricane Dorian definitely took a toll on our precious Hunting Island but Park Rangers, crews and many other local volunteers have been working extra hard to get things cleaned up.
Thanks to their amazing efforts this past week, the beach access is now back open to the public which includes all of North Beach by the Lighthouse and Picnic areas along with South Beach by the Nature Center. There is still much work to be done in certain areas of the park and as of now the campground and trails will remain closed for a bit longer.
Customers who have reservations may find out information on reservations by calling 1-866-345-7275, Monday through Friday. You can also follow the South Carolina State Park website and social media for more information. For up-to-date weather and travel information please visit SCEMD’s website or SCDOT online.
We are beyond grateful to everyone who has worked so quickly to help clean up and restore our beautiful piece of Lowcountry paradise. Now, time to head to the coast and hit the beach!!!
