Students from Robert Smalls International Academy honor 9/11 victims with a 3000 flag memorial
A group of 8th graders from Robert Smalls International Academy organized a tribute of 3000 flags to honor the victims killed in the tourist attacks on September 11th, 2011.
Thousands of small American flags were set in place by local students to greet visitors near the entrance of the school in hopes they will take a moment to remember the events and victims of 9/11 when passing by.
It’s a beautiful thing to see the children who were not yet born when the events of Sept. 11, 2001 took place are the ones leading this great act of honor. We commemorate the students, faculty and everyone else who worked together to make this rememberance possible.
