Thanks & Giving Drive Hosted by The Gullah Geechee Initiative Foundation
The Gullah Geechee Initiative Foundation is looking forward to supporting communities by sponsoring “A Day of Thanks & Giving” Food Distribution Project in Downtown Beaufort.
“A Day of Thanks & Giving” is in response to the outpouring of support and participations for the pandemic food distribution initiative started by GGIF for St. Helena individuals and families.
GGIF’s goal for “A Day of Thanks & Giving” is to provide a turkey along with food items that are typically used when preparing a Thanksgiving meal to 100 individuals/households. GGIF is currently accepting monetary and or in-kind donations of:
- collard greens
- sweet potatoes
- cornbread mix
- elbow noodles
- stuffing
- cranberry sauce
“A Day of Thanks & Giving” will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2020, at the Beaufort County Black Chamber of Commerce, located at 711 Bladen St. Food distribution starts at 11:00 AM and will continue until supplies last. There will also be on-site free COVID testing and flu shots.
