Zonta Club Oyster Roast brings community together
Saturday night in Port Royal was all about bonfires, friends, oysters and community at the Zonta Club of Beaufort’s annual Oyster Roast at Live Oaks Park. Folks turned out in droves to support the local women’s organization and to enjoy some live music, raffles and prizes, lots of food and drink, and that most favorite of Lowcountry events, the oyster roast.
Oyster roasts are held as fundraisers throughout the Beaufort area and many restaurants host them on a regular basis throughout the fall. Attending one is a great way to support our local charities and businesses. It’s traditions like this that make living here so special. It’s the connection between us, our neighbors, family and friends as we stand around in our jackets, laughing, talking and enjoying one of the most unique and delicious experiences to be found right here in our own back yard .
Thank you Zonta Club for putting together such a fun and memorable event. Until next year, we toast you…with a half-shell of course.
