A blustery Beaufort band hopping weekend
By Mary Ellen Thompson | We’re in for a frigid weekend in Beaufort so if you hop quicker…you’ll stay warmer. Friday starts out with our favorite girls The Sweetgrass Angels at Lowcountry Produce Market and Cafe from 6 – 9. Grab a coat and take a hop on over to The Back Porch Grille and catch a tune or two with Mark Bonds between 7:30 and 10:30 and then leap on out to the Foolish Frog for Burn Out – hopefully on this chilly night their music will warm you up and if not – then a Bourbon or two from the bar should do the trick!
Saturday night the Sweetgrass Angels will be at the Foolish Frog so go there and stay put – there aren’t any other hops to make on Saturday and besides, who wants to go anywhere else when the Angels are at the Frog?
Sunday’s stroll to Saltus River grill is de rigueur as usual for Vic Varner and friends from 7 until 9:30.
But here’s what you all need to know – Monday has a very special event for our most beloved Phil Griffin going on at Artworks between 6 and 10 in the evening. Phil is an extremely talented musician, and husband of one of my favorite artists, Dianne Britton Dunham. He suffered a brutal attack and needs all the love and support this community can muster up – so please come on over and bid on some silent auction items, nibble on some food, drink some sodas, wine or beer, and listen to a stage full of musicians play in support this wonderful dear sweet man. No excuses accepted.
Enjoy. Be safe. Live generously. Band hop!
