A Shrimp Festival weekend band hop
By Mary Ellen Thompson | Things are beginning to wind down a bit for band hopping opportunities, but this weekend is an exception so get those hoppy feet on and get going.
Tonight is First Friday After 5, so wander around town a bit before you head on over to Lowcountry Produce Market and Cafe where your favorite Sweetgrass Angels will be there to entertain you between 6 and 9. Stroll around the corner to Wined It Up and catch at least a set or two of Vic Varner and company and then wander on down to the Waterfront Park and size yourself up at the Shrimp Festival, taste lots of yummy foods and maybe stick around for The Company Band.
But if you stay on the hop, then get on over to The Back Porch Grille to hear Mark Bonds between 7:30 and 10:30 and then take your last big leap of the evening out to – you know where – The Foolish Frog where Jason and Ben will be playing from 7 until 11.
On Saturday there will be music practically all day, or at least between 11 and 5, at The Shrimp Festival so be sure to check out the shrimp boats, eat lots and lots of shrimp, and be entertained by the Brewer Band, Aunt Pearlie Sue, and the Bull Grapes. Saturday night Sam Milner will be playing at the Foolish Frog between 7 and 11.
Sunday’s stroll will take you to Saltus River Grill for Vic Varner and Friends from 6:30 until 9.
Enjoy. Be Safe. Tip Generously. Band hop.
