Three Cheers for the Red, White, and Blue on the Bridge in Downtown Beaufort, SC!

Beaufort, South Carolina displays an enormous American flag this holiday symbolizing a Patriotic Community United by Pride.

As you may have noticed, there is once again a big American flag hanging from the Woods Memorial Bridge in downtown Beaufort, SC. Last year, Beaufort received the honor of being the first city to allow a flag to be displayed from a bridge in the State of South Carolina.

With so much going on it our crazy world right now, this flag means so much to so many people. It’s a feeling of freedom, community, and pride. It’s a symbol of strength and unity. Strength and unity for our nation and our small-town we love to call home. It makes us proud to be an American, to be part of a patriotic community that truly believes in what the flag stands for. A proud community that worked together so we can all pay tribute to our independence and the individuals who sacrifice their lives for our freedom. It is a symbol of HOPE, celebration, reflection, gratitude, and remembrance.

Last year, a 15’ x 25 foot United States flag hung from the historic Woods Memorial swing bridge with the help of many community members coming together to make it happen.  Many thanks to the folks at SCDOT, City of Beaufort Public Works, Beaufort County, City of Beaufort, Beaufort & Port Royal Fire Department and our friend Shannon Erickson, Representative, SC House District 124, who gifted this larger, 20×30 foot flag, to our Beaufort, SC community this year.

This year, and hopefully many more years to come, we hope you will enjoy this beautiful patriotic tradition as much as we do.

We hope you all have a safe and Happy 4th of July and GOD BLESS AMERICA! ????????
