ARTworks offers new summer kids camps in July
Still looking for something to round out the kids’ summer vacation? Artworks, the Arts Council of Beaufort County, is offering two new one-week summer camps for kids in July at its location in Beaufort Town Center.
Creating A Comic Book Camp, July 13th through 17th
This is a one week camp for the kid who loves animated movies, comic books, graphic novels (“Manga”) and drawing. College art major Josh Adams will guide students through a series of topics including: creating a narrative to illustrate, breaking a story into illustrated panels, the business of illustration for comic books, and more.
Classes will take place every day for one week from 10am to 3pm. Students should be at least 12 years old with previous drawing experience. The cost is $150 per student. Parents may register by calling the Arts Council office at 843-379-2787.
“Glee” Style A Capella Singing Camp, July 20th – 24th
Do you have a “Glee” geek in the house? A “Pitch Perfect” young performer just bursting to unleash their acapella talents with a group of other kids their age? Then this is most certainly the perfect opportunity. The Arts Council is offering a one week camp in which students will form a group and then perform fun acapella music. Led by a young man who performs in a college acapella group himself, this camp will teach vocal technique, team work, stage presence, and more.
The camp will run from 10am to 3pm all week. Prospective students must be able to read music and be at least 10 years of age. The cost is $150 per student. Parents may register by calling the Arts Council office at 843-379-2787.
