Beaufort spreads the love on Tuesday with random act of kindness

We’ve all seen it before but it usually happens somewhere else. There’s the ‘pay it forward’ from a local coffee shop or in the line at a fast food restaurant or a toll booth. Random acts of kindness are just that. Random. And kind.

But they make people happy, and that’s what matters most.

Walking into downtown’s Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park along its West Street extension entrance on Tuesday at lunch timeBeaufort spreads the love gave many folks quite a thrill and plenty of smiles. Someone randomly placed a bucket of flowers in the middle of the sidewalk with a sign on it that read, “Help yourself to a lovely flower, because all people are beautiful.”

We witnessed several people graciously taking flowers from the bucket with big, wide smiles on their faces.

Wikipedia defines a Random Act of Kindness as “a selfless act performed by a person or people wishing either to assist or to cheer up an individual person or people.”

Indeed. We hope to see more of this in the future. Whoever did this today….thank you.

Spread the love, Beaufort. It’s a beautiful thing.
