Bernie Schein is 'Famous All Over Town'

Hundreds turned out on Thursday night in the Courtyard of the historic Beaufort Arsenal in downtown to enjoy an invitation-only book signing party and to celebrate well-known local author Bernie Schein and his new novel about growing up in Beaufort: Famous All Over Town.

Lots of Bernie’s friends showed up (including best friend Pat Conroy along with his wife Cassandra King) for the party and it was a who’s-who of familiar faces.

Folks bought the book, got Bernie’s autograph, heard some great soft jazz by Horizon Jazz Band, enjoyed some food and lifted a glass in celebration of Bernie’s slightly outrageous view of Beaufort from the sixties through the nineties.

The event was sponsored by the wonderful folks at the Beaufort History Museum.
