Books, books and more books at annual Fall Book Sale
By Cindy Reid | That is my idea of heaven, more books than I can read. Stacks of books. Biographies, novels, history books. Piles of books. Cookbooks, craft books, children’s books. Old favorites and new finds. We bibliophiles are in luck because a favorite fall Lowcountry event is coming up again; the huge Annual Fall Book Sale put on by the Friends of the Beaufort Library at Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park in downtown Beaufort.
Not only do you have the pleasure of perusing many long tables of books, you will be helping the library with every purchase you make at the sale. This book sale is the main fundraiser for the Friends of the Beaufort Library, Beaufort, Lobeco and St. Helena Branches (FOL) with all proceeds benefitting the Beaufort County Public Library branches in Beaufort, Lobeco and St. Helena Island. Buying books to help out the library- this is a complete win-win for everyone!
I have found everything from childhood favorites to new discoveries on these tables, and simply can’t leave without buying at least one bag. Yes, I buy books by the bag. Did I mention that the prices are extremely reasonable? Reasonable enough to buy in bulk and take a chance on some intriguing authors or subjects. And books make wonderful presents, for yourself and others so think upcoming holiday shopping.
Put it on your calendar and don’t miss it. I’ll be sure to be there.
