CJ Cummings left no room for question on the third day of competition at the 2016 International Weightlifting Federation Youth World Championships in Penang, Malaysia. The 16 year old phenom from St. Helena Island captured the championship title with a 23kg lead over second place and set a new youth world record in the clean and jerk at 180kg.

Cummings went 2 for 3 in the snatch session with successful lifts at 130kg and 135kg. He did not complete his final lift at 138kg.

His defining moment came in the clean and jerk session when he successfully completed 182kg (401 lbs) on his second attempt. This lift set a new youth world record, 2kg above the previous record of 180kg. Cummings also held the prior record, which he set at the IWF Junior World Championships in June.

He totaled at 317kg, matching the youth world record that he previously set in June.

Cummings three gold medals Saturday adds to an impressive year so far.

In June he was crowned Junior World Champion in Tbilisi, Georgia.
