Donate to FWDG's 30th Annual Coat Drive!
Furniture Warehouse Design Gallery’s 30th annual winter coat drive will run through Dec. 31. The event collects winter coats for children and adults throughout Beaufort County.
Area residents are encouraged to donate gently-worn winter coats, sweaters, and warm clothes such as scarves, hats, or gloves/mittens. Over the course of the past 29 years, FWDG has collected more than 45,000 garments for those in need.
The coat drive benefits two local non-profit organizations: Help of Beaufort and The Deep Well Project of Hilton Head Island.
FWDG organizes all aspects of this event: promotion, collection, temporary storage, and transportation of the new coats. FWDG staff across the company rally to raise awareness of the project.
“We had no idea when we first brainstormed the Coat Drive idea 30 years ago that it would eventually benefit thousands of children and adults in Beaufort County,” FDWG founder and President Larry Mark said in a release. “So not only warming but heartwarming, too. We invite you to go through your closets and find a garment to give. It means a lot to a fellow neighbor in your town who is struggling to keep himself or family warm.”
The drop off point is the foyer of FDWG at 745 Robert Smalls Parkway in Beaufort. For more information, call 843.524.8695.
