Edwin McCain to perform at USCB Center for the Arts
While Edwin McCain scored his biggest hits a decade ago, the soulful singer/songwriter quietly releases a new album every two or three years, and continues to tour the country playing small club shows before a very devout fan base. Certainly McCain’s local fan base here must be delighted that the performer is coming to Beaufort for a concert on October 4th, at 730pm at The USCB Center for the Arts on Carteret Street in Downtown.
McCain, from Greenville, South Carolina, is known for his radio hits: “Solitude” from 1995, “I’ll Be” in 1998, “I Could Not Ask For More” in 1999, and “Letter to My Mother” in 2001, he currently has a single on the radio called “Walk With You”, which is best described as an emotional father-daughter wedding song. Concert-goers consider his shows to be among the best, and often say that they’re ‘genuine, from the hum of the music and the character of his voice being as touching as the song’s lyrics. Very good, and very intimate. The 460 seat venue should serve the McCain fan quite well.
Tickets to the concert are $35 each, AND $75 gets you a backstage pass too. Call USCB’s Center for the Arts for ticket info at 843-521-3145.
