Easter fun, egg hunts, bunnies and brunches around Beaufort this weekend

So you want to see the Easter Bunny?  Every year we are bombarded with folks asking us where the Easter Bunny will be meeting with kids for photo opportunities. Here is a list of some places you might venture out and see him/her/it over the next two weeks in Beaufort, compiled by Family Corner editor Jennifer McCormack.

Beaufort/Port Royal Events:

April 4th
Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Hunting Island Beach, 9am
Everyone loves a fun Easter Egg Hunt but here’s one right in the shadow of the Hunting Island Lighthouse. On Saturday, April 4th join the staff of Hunting Island in a FREE Easter Egg Hunt and creative coloring contest too and win lots of prizes. Of course, the Easter Bunny will be there to meet the kids and get some great photos.
Free Family Easter Carnival in Port Royal
April 4 @ 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Get ready for some Easter fun on Saturday, April 4th as The Link and Decibel Church partner up for a FREE Family Easter Carnival from 3 – 5 PM at the Naval Heritage Park (skatepark) in Port Royal. There will be inflatables, games, snow cones, relay races, popcorn, door prizes, food vendors and much more! This year attendees are asked to bring a donation for the Preschool at the Beaufort YMCA. Your donations of Kleenex, Clorox wipes, Lysol spray, styrofoam bowls, plastic forks and spoons, learning puzzles, dress up clothes and pretend kitchen items will be greatly appreciated.

CBC Easter Eggstravaganza
April 4 @ 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

Join Community Bible Church for it’s annual Easter Eggstravaganza on April 4th from 10am to 2pm at the church located at 638 Parris Island Gateway. Enjoy tons of fun with  games, jumpers, face painting, egg hunts, give-aways, candy, pony rides and more. Stay for lunch and even get a surprise or two!


Hilton Head Events

Easter Bunny Wagon Ride: Hilton Head

April 3 – 5: Enjoy our spring exploration of the Sea Pines Forest Preserve and the Easter Bunny will join in for refreshments before the ride.  $15/adults and $10/children12 and under. Reservations required by contacting the Recreation Department at (843) 842-1979.

April 4: The Island Rec Center Presents Easter EGGstravaganza at the Shelter Cove Community Park, 39 Shelter Cove Ln., from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. A huge Easter egg hunt will begin at 11 a.m. sharp, followed by an afternoon of moon bounces, games and music. Admission is $10 for children Age 2-10 and No Charge for Adults. All proceeds benefit The Island Recreation Association Scholarship Fund. (843) 681-7273 or islandreccenter.org.

On Saturday, April 4th at 10 a.m. the ever popular Salty Dog Café will also host the Annual Salty Dog Easter Egg Hunt at South Beach Village in the Sea Pines Resort. Kids can find Easter eggs filled with candy, prizes and certificates redeemable for Salty Dog T-shirts and more. There will also be a special appearance and a chance for photos with the Easter Bunny and Jake the Salty Dog!

For individuals with Base access, MCCS is hosting an Eggstravaganza! The event will be located at the Laurel Bay Youth Center on 4 April from 1000-1200 to hunt for Easter eggs, hop around in bounce houses, snap a picture with the Easter bunny, and more! For more information, call (843) 228-7333.
Sunday Brunch
Sunday Brunch is an Easter favorite. Find lots of great food and fun at Bricks on Boundary, Southern Graces, Q on Bay, The Albergotti Grill and at Panini’s on the Waterfront.
