Help restock the shelves at HELP of Beaufort
We love it when a community comes together. Local non-profit Help of Beaufort is widely known as serving our comminuty in the vital role of Beaufort’s food pantry with wide open doors (and hearts) to assist those in the Beaufort area who are in need of emergency items. A few days back, the organization issued a statement that it was in dire need of non-perishable food items, and is asking for assistance by way of donations to restock the shelves at it’s 1910 Baggett Street location.
HELP needs help.
In typical Beaufort-fashion, the community is answering. Within a day or two, local Beaufort business were contacting HELP of Beaufort offering their assistance, and dropoff boxes have been placed at several spots across the area. Some businesses including Fat Patties in Port Royal have decided to match each donation item-for-item, and others including Maggie’s Pub & Eatery in Habersham are drawing folks to donate by offering freebies. In Maggie’s case, a free glass of wine for dropping off a non-perishable food item in the HELP of Beaufort box located inside the restaurant, through October 6th.
In fact, you can bring your non-perishable food item to several places around Beaufort. New Spring Chiropractic, Studio B Dance Centre, Dancing Dogs Yoga, Furniture Design & Warehouse Gallery, Moondoggies Cafe, Rapid Refill, all three Beaufort-area Shell gas stations, the aforementioned Fat Patties and Maggie’s, among others, all have donation boxes set up inside their businesses to accept donations. Studio B Dance Centre on Greene Street is accepting five items in lieu of it’s $5 fee for a class through the end of October.
How easy could it be? We all have a few items in our cupboards that we can spare. Go ahead, check. It’s very simple to grab them, place them into one of the shopping bags you also have around the house, and put them in your car this morning, or perhaps this afternoon, or even tomorrow.
Chances are you’ll be passing one of these locations in your travels. Take a few minutes to help HELP of Beaufort…to help them help someone in need.
