Irma sends Beaufort County kids to school on weekends for make-up days
Beaufort County School District students will be attending classes at school on two Saturdays in November to make up days missed from Tropical Storm Irma. Unless the Beaufort County Board of Education decides differently, the designated makeup days will be November 11th and November 18th.
Beaufort County School District is the only of the state’s 20 largest districts to rely entirely on Saturdays as make up days in the case of inclement weather.
Students were excused a half day on Friday, September 8th, and there was no school on Monday and Tuesday, the 11th & 12th, due to Irma.
