Trick or Treat in Downtown Beaufort: October 25, 2012 430-6pm. Grab the costumed kids, put on your walking shoes and head into Downtown Beaufort on October 25th from 5 to 630 pm for the annual Trick or Treat in Downtown event, presented by Main Street Beaufort, USA and the downtown merchants. Trick or Treat with the downtown businesses along Bay, Carteret, Port Republic, West, Charles and Scott Streets. Kids and parents love this free event as downtown comes alive with costumes, kids, and community.
HBF’s Fall Festival of Houses and Gardens: 2012 Fall Festival of Houses and Gardens is Friday, October 26 through Sunday, October 28. During Historic Beaufort Foundation’s Fall Festival of Houses and Gardens visitors are invited to explore Beaufort from a rare vantage point: a selection of private homes, gardens, and plantations normally not open to the public welcome visitors inside. The houses represent three centuries of Beaufort architecture for which the city is justly famous. These self-paced walking tours offer a distinctive opportunity to observe how contemporary lifestyles are lived within the framework of our unmatched architectural heritage. The Haunted Trail @ Deep Sigh Horse Farm: The Haunted Trail at Deep Sigh Horse Farm in Seabrook at 163 Keans Neck Rd. and is open October 26th, 27th, 8pm-Midnight and 31st 7-11pm. Exchange Club’s annual Beaufort Ghost Tours: One of Beaufort’s spookiest events, The Exchange Club of Beaufort’s 20th Annual Beaufort Ghost Tours, began October 12, and run through October 28th. Take a carriage ride or walking tour through the moss lined streets of Beaufort’s historic district while listening to costumed storytellers tell haunting tales of the area. One of the oldest ghosts in America is said to live in “the Castle,” a 19th century renovated estate located on the river in downtown Beaufort. 4th Annual Habersham Harvest Festival: October 27, 12:00pm – October 27, 6:00pm at Habersham Marketplace. The Habersham Marketplace, located at 13 Market St. off of Joe Frazier Road in Beaufort, will host the Fourth Annual Habersham Harvest Festival. The festival will feature live music by Lowcountry favorite, The Brewer Band, along with a variety of area musicians and performers. Festive food and drink from local and regional vendors and seasonal, fresh produce from farmers across the state of South Carolina will be readily available. Additional festival features include a crafts fair, hay rides, outdoor field sports and games, a dog agility course, costume contest and games offered by Beaufort Dog as well as numerous children’s activities. Chain Free Beaufort’s ‘Howling Halloween’ Party: October 28, 2012 12:00pm – October 28, 2012 3:00pm. Join Chain Free Beaufort at Hemingway’s Bistro at 920 Bay Street in Downtown Beaufort for its annual Howling Halloween Party. Enjoy a canine costume contest with prizes, a silent auction and giveaway, kids activities, food, drinks, and a pet adoption too.
Carteret Street United Methodist Church Pumpkin Patch: 408 Carteret Street, Beaufort. The Pumpkin Patch will be open daily. Thousands of pumpkins were delivered. The Pumpkin Patch, sponsored by the Carteret Street Youth, is open to the public and offers pumpkins of all shapes and sizes for sale. School trips are also available. All proceeds raised benefit Carteret Street’s youth ministries. The pumpkins are grown in New Mexico by Navajo Indians and are shipped directly to Carteret Street as a gesture of faith. Carteret Street, in turn, sells the pumpkins, reports the sales and receives a portion of the overall sales. For more info the church office can be reached at 524-3841.
Sea Island Animal Hospital Pet Halloween Costume Party: Located at 40 Professional Village Circle, Ladys Island. SIAH will be hosting a pet costume party on October 31st from 2pm-6pm!
