Lowcountry Fishing Report : May 2022
Coastal fishing in South Carolina is getting better every day and the waters surrounding Beaufort’s Sea Islands are an angler’s paradise!
According to our weekly report from Captain Ralph on Fripp Island, the high winds have slowed fishing and hurt our fly fishing, but the catching is GOOD!
Here’s what you can look forward to catching on the water this week…
Inshore Fishing
Redfish, Sheepshead around structure,Blackdrum, Whiting and Shark good catches. Trout have slowed with Flounder picking up. Cobia have been slow so far this season in the Broad River and in and near shore.
Nearshore Fishing
Good catches of Blackbass, Blackdrum, Trigger, Vermillion and Grunt. Again Cobia have been slow but should improve. Back again Barracuda.
Offshore/Stream
Dolphins are HOT! A few Wahoo and Tuna being caught.
