Meet Nash: Pet Friendly Beaufort's Pet of the Month for August
Every month, Pet Friendly Beaufort selects a Pet of the Month through a contest on it’s Facebook Page and then profiles each winner…right here! Congratulations to Susan Trogdon and her best friend Nash, winners for August 2013. Thanks to our sponsors, Beaufort Dog and Sea Island Animal Hospital, Nash wins a Spa Day and some fantastic assorted prizes.
Without further ado…here are the facts and some Q&A with Nash…
Full name: Nash Trogdon, originally from Greensboro, NC
Breed: Golden Retreiver
Age: 5
Favorite Toy: He loves his stuffed toys and I think his favorite is what we call “Sadie” because the little girl next door is named Sadie and Nash loves her. She got the toy for Nash because he kept taking her baby doll, so I think she thought he would stop if she got him a toy!
Favorite Treat: We give him Blue Buffalo treats and he is not picky! He does love peanut butter and gets a little dab along with a piece of banana every morning
How does he like to spend his time: Nash loves the beach and the mountains. We hike as often as possible in the mountains and Nash is always with us! He enjoys hiking and going to the beach. He obviously loves water and we usually find a mountain stream on our hikes!
Favorite thing to do: He enjoys pet friendly Beaufort in so many ways…The Sands in Port Royal, Hunting Island lagoon in the winter and the beach in the summer. We also frequent the waterfront and walk Bay Street.
Do you have a special story about him?
There are so many stories about him, but a sweet story would be when our neighbors were flying to Texas on vacation with their two young boys to visit family. One of the boys did not like flying and the only way his mom could get him back on the plane to come home was to tell him he could see Nash if got on the plane.
Nash goes to Summit Place in Beaufort to visit the residents, and is was always so sweet with all of the patients. One thing we forgot to teach during our training was that the tennis balls on the walkers are NOT to play with! A resident was walking with a walker and tennis balls were on both sides and Nash thought that the elderly man wanted to play ball. No one was hurt and Nash listened well, but it took some firm encouragement to get him away from the walker!
