Military Workforce Liaison hired for TWEAC by City, Economic Alliance

TWEAC (Transitional Workforce Educational Assistance Collaborative), The Lowcountry Economic Alliance, and the City of Beaufort have announced the hiring of Dwight M. Hora as the Military Workforce Liaison for TWEAC and will lead the program pilot.

We are very pleased to have Dwight join our team and assist us with launching this very important program. It is great to have a veteran leading this effort and a citizen of Beaufort,” said Mayor Billy Keyserling.

Over the last year the City of Beaufort has been meeting with military, industry, educational and community partners to create a customized workforce model to assist exiting military personnel to transition into the private sector. The group’s analysis resulted in the creation of the non-profit organization, TWEAC (Transitional Workforce Educational Assistance Collaborative).

“We are delighted to have Dwight on our team. He is a Marine who dedicated 22 years to serving his country and has recently experienced the transition process himself. His experience and timing should prove to be invaluable,” said Lieutenant General Garry Parks,USMC (Ret.), Chairman of TWEAC.

TWEAC is being financially supported by the Lowcountry Economic Alliance as the program is in the pilot phase of development. During the pilot phase current data will be collected on the regional military inventory available and the skills they possess that are so valuable to the private sector. Translating the military skills into private sector terminology is critical to completing the mission of matching veteran skills with business needs.  David Tigges, Chairman of the Lowcountry Economic Alliance stated, “The business community continues to ask the workforce question and the addition of a military workforce liaison to our team is coming at a critical time as companies look to South Carolina for investment.”
