Oyster Roast season in full swing in Lowcountry
Fall is here and the temperatures are dropping and that means it’s time for folks to gather for one of the Lowcountry’s most favorite pastimes, the ever-popular oyster roast.
Tons of VERY warmly dressed oyster lovers braved temperatures barely in the 50s and joined in the fun at Live Oaks Park in Port Royal on Saturday evening for the Zonta Club of Beaufort‘s annual Oyster Roast fundraiser.
Folks enjoyed a raffles and prizes, live music with Chris Jones, and all the fantastic LOCAL oysters they could eat along with other delicious offerings.
Oyster roasts are a part of our community. It’s what we do. It’s traditions like this that make living here so special.
It’s the connection between the water we live on and the food on our table. And even more so, it’s the connection between us, our neighbors, family and friends as we stand around in our jackets, laughing, talking and enjoying one of the most unique and delicious experiences to be found right here in our own back yard.
Thanks to the ladies at the Zonta Club for putting on one of the finest each and every year.
