Whenever you’re looking for something to do in Beaufort, there’s always one spot where you can guarantee that something is almost always going on.  ART works in Beaufort Town Center.  Whether it’s a play, a concert, a show, or even a party ARTworks is always doing something.

Here’s an update on what’s coming in the next week at ARTworks.

Expect the Unexpected: an evening with Candace Lovely @ ARTworks.  Candace Lovely invites you to a Private Artist’s Reception (otherwise known as a party) on Thursday, October 11, 2012 from 6-8pm in the Artist’s Lounge at ARTworks in Beaufort Town Center, 2127 Boundary Street. Featuring images of “Bar Hopping in the Lowcountry” & “God Bless America from Candace Lovely” in her exhibition through October.  At the reception, live music will be provided by “Bull Grapes,” and gracious discussion by all.

Clay on Thursdays begins October 11th with Trevor Foster. Learn basic techniques or refine your skills & explore new techniques. Trevor Foster is a master potter, well known for his large-scale, statuesque urns and raku firing sessions. The handbuilding session is 10am-noon, and wheelthrown classes are 1:15 to 3:15, or 6 to 8pm. Glazes and firing are included: $125 plus $25 per 25lbs of clay. To register:, 803-707-5961, 

The Satire Diaries: Too Stupid to Fail , a show for anyone guilty of contributing to the 21st century. “The Satire Diaries” is a musical revue of social satire that lampoons movies, popular culture, dating, men & women, arts, politics, and much, much more!  Four actors and a pianist perform acts such as a news medley of current events; the “Bathroom Mirror Ballet” of a couple getting ready for their first date; and “Fertilization Explained!” a newly discovered operetta by Gilbert & Sullivan and Masters & Johnson. “The Satire Diaries” is directed by and featuring Stan Gill, following his 2011 production of “Mark Twain’s Final Tour.”
Production Dates are October 12th and 13th at 7:30pm. $17 General Admission and $12 for Groups of 10+.
