TCL named Best Community College in South Carolina
Beaufort’s local technical college is turning heads too. The Technical College of the Lowcountry has been named the #1 two-year community college in all of South Carolina by BestColleges.com, a national college planning website designed to help students find the best school for achieving their educational goals.
In the description of the top pick in South Carolina, BestColleges.com said that with a focus on being community directed and providing services to local students, Technical College of the Lowcountry takes the top spot in the search for best two-year colleges in South Carolina.
“Learners are able to choose from more than 80 different associate degrees catering to students looking to start their careers quickly or use their time at TCL as a jumpstart to a four-year degree. More than 5,000 students attend TCL’s multiple campuses each year, studying topics ranging from criminal justice technology and industrial electronics to physical therapy assistant and early childhood education. For students planning to transfer, numerous associates in art or science are offered as transfer blocks to ensure students take the right classes for further studies,” it said in its release.
Technical College of the Lowcountry’s main campus in Beaufort, situated on 49 acres of waterfront property, is comprised of 17 major buildings hosting state-of-the-art technologies.
