The Beaufort Community mourns the loss of a beloved friend and treasured icon

Our hearts are heavy this morning to learn of the passing of an unsung hero in our Beaufort, SC community, Miss Barbara Aimar.

Chances are, if you have ever shopped at CAPA Beaufort Thrift Store on Ribaut Road, you have met the manager Miss Barbara and her sweet dog Niko.

Barbara always greeted everyone with her beautiful and kind smile. Even when the store was crazy busy with people shopping or volunteers moving pieces around, she was always gracious to help in any way possible.

The Thrift Store and its tremendous success were possible because of her unyielding commitment to our community and to the prevention of child abuse and neglect.

There is no measuring the untold thousands of lives she changed through her work and our Beaufort community will forever be grateful for her service and friendship.

Please keep our friends at CAPA, Charmian Hedrick and the Hedrick and Aimar families in your thoughts and prayers.

*CAPA’s Closet Thrift Store will be closed in Barbara’s memory through Friday. The store will reopen Saturday, July 20th.
