The Market Report: Downtown Beaufort Farmer's Market
You can find one of Beaufort’s four community farmer’s markets in downtown Beaufort every Wednesday from 3 to 7pm on a partially closed off West Street. It’s the Downtown Beaufort Farmers Market, and it’s a lot of fun! Not being in a field, or in a parking lot, this market is easy to get to if you live or work downtown because it’s right in the heart of it all.
Organized by Main Street Beaufort USA, the seasonal downtown market offers produce vendors, live entertainment, seafood vendors, homemade breads, jarred goods, visits from local restaurants, and a whole host of other goodies. Everything you find at the market is locally grown, harvested, made or caught. Also, each week a different non-profit organization is present telling you all about their mission. It’s a great way to get to know what some of our area non-profits are doing, up close and personal.
The purpose of The Market Report is to let you know what was actually found at the market, so that you can know what to expect to be able to buy there when you go. Visiting the market at the end of August, we found:
Fresh local shrimp
Tomatoes
Fresh homemade breads and puddings
Jarred veggies
