Around Town: Fun things to do this weekend in Beaufort

    Here’s some of what’s taking place in Beaufort the weekend of May 31st.  The weather is becoming much warmer in our part of the Lowcountry. Take some time from your busy schedule and stroll along Bay Street or thru Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park.  Be a tourist in your own hometown and visit the Parris Island Museum, our many important historical sites, or walk historic downtown Beaufort for an afternoon.

    If you’re looking for an event this weekend, try the Complete works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) @ ARTworks
    on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  Check out the Port Royal Farmers Market Saturday morning at Naval Heritage Park in Port Royal, it’sPort Royal Farmers Market a local tradition.  There’s also Pickpocket Plantation Farmers Market where you can go back in time and enjoy the plantation grounds and see folks in 1860s period dress too.

    Celebrate the upcoming World Oceans Day with a day of events at the Yoga Chandra Center on Lady’s Island.  Enjoy a day of Yoga~Stand-up Paddle Boarding~Art~UP-Cycling~Master Gardener Lecture~Kids Yoga and more.

    If it’s live music you like, bring a chair, a cooler and your dancing shoes and plan to have a good time because it’s StreetMusic on Paris Avenue on Saturday at 630pm with Another Roadside Attraction, direct from Roanoke, Virginia.

There’s plenty to do at our parks, at the beach, or downtown.  You can check out our many fine golf courses or just get out and be social… and help boost the local economy.
