Hey Kids! Touch a Truck event coming to Port Royal
It’s back! The Junior Service League of Beaufort is hosting its second annual Touch a Truck event on November 18th in Port Royal. If you attended last year’s event then you know that Touch a Truck is a unique and interactive event that allows children to see, touch, and safely explore their favorite big trucks and heavy machinery, as well as to meet the personnel who protect, serve, and build the Beaufort & Port Royal communities.
Vehicles on display include farm equipment, concrete mixers, dump trucks, backhoes, emergency responders, tow trucks, tractor trailers, utility trucks and many more.
The event also features vendors and food trucks with tons to do for kids and adults so whether you’re a parent, a child, or a child at heart, there will be plenty to do at the fall fundraiser for the Junior Service League of Beaufort.
Kids get the opportunity to climb, touch, learn and play on some of the coolest vehicles around that build, serve and protect our community. Participants will be able to sit in the driver’s seat and imagine what it is like to operate the vehicles as well as learn more about them from the various sponsors and donors.
When all the truck-touching has the kids tuckered out you can just take them on over to the entertainment area for face painting, bounce-houses, and other surprises to keep imaginations running. When you’ve worked out your mind and worked up an appetite, there will be plenty of food, live music and beverage options available to enjoy while resting in the shade of beautiful Paris Avenue.
Not only is the event a ton of fun, but it’s also all for a good cause. Proceeds from the event go right back into our community via JSLB grants distributed in May each year. The community’s participation in engaging events like Touch a Truck helps the League continually distribute funds and time right back into this place we call home.
