Beaufort's Holiday Weekend
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas across the Lowcountry, and the City of Beaufort is busy planning the annual Beaufort Holiday Weekend, three days filled with holiday events and plenty of fantastic, family fun.
The celebration begins on Friday, December 7 with the 29th Annual A Night on the Town celebration at 6pm. A long-standing tradition of the community, A Night on the Town brings Christmas alive. Shops along Bay Street and the surrounding blocks will stay open late to show off goodies while neighbors mix and mingle. The evening includes the City of Beaufort’s Tree Lighting Ceremony, entertainment by local choral and dance groups, and a visit from Santa.
Saturday, December 8 is the night for one of our favorite local events, the creative and festive “Stars in the Rigging” Holiday Boat Parade. The City of Beaufort and America’s Boating Club of Beaufort invite you to join the fun as the community gathers along the river in Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park to watch the annual parade of holiday-decorated boats. The lighted boats will make three passes by the seawall starting at 6pm. Participants are encouraged to go “All Out” in their lighting designs, and they put on quite a show! The traditional Beaufort Christmas Parade takes place on Sunday, December 9. The fun begins at 3pm as floats, bands, and local organizations in cars and trucks make their way through the streets of downtown Beaufort. Be on the look out for Santa to make a special appearance, too. If you are interested in participating in the Beaufort Christmas Parade, please click here to view the City’s application.
As you can see, the City of Beaufort has a fantastic holiday weekend planned. So, join us downtown for some family fun, and have a Merry Christmas!
