It's band hopping time in Beaufort
By Mary Ellen Thompson | It’s the best part of the week again and we’re looking at a nice weekend for band hopping around Beaufort. Warm up your hopping feet as usual on Thursday night at Q on Bay with The Bull Grapes from 8:00 – 11pm.
Friday night starts at Lowcountry Produce Market and Cafe with The Sweetgrass Angels playing from 6 – 9; swing by Bricks on Boundary for SWIG from 7 – 9:30; and then hop into the BackPorch Grill for some tunes by Trey’s Aliens on your way out to the Island. Check out the new digs down at St. Helena’s Boondocks and listen to Dawn Frank, and then take your final hop of the evening to the Foolish Frog to enjoy the Cluster Shucks who will be playing from 7 – 11pm.
Saturday nights are showing more promise as the weather is more inviting – finally Friday is not the only music night of the week so save some spring in your steps for Saturday night. Northstar will be at the Back Porch Grill from 7:30 – 10:30 then hop on over the bridge and catch the Bull Grapes at Boondocks between 7 and 11, but be sure not to miss Katie McAllister at the Foolish Frog between 7 and 11.
Save that last breath for Burning Phoenix at Q on Bay, as usual into the wee hours.
Sunday is Happy Mother’s Day – if possible, take your mother out for some music – stop by Q on Bay and listen to Jeff Beasley in the afternoon from 1:30 – 4:30, then stroll to Saltus River Grill to enjoy Vic Varner and Friends between 6:30 and 9pm.
Enjoy. Be safe. Band hop.
