Brody's Bar and Grill to open on Lady's Island (update)
Update: According to ownership, Brody’s to open by Wednesday, October 14th. Boasts 30 televisions and an all-sports theme.
Original story:
Things are looking up on Lady’s Island. After shutting its doors in September 2013, the vacant Barbara Jeans Restaurant building behind the new Publix will be reopening early this fall as Brody’s Bar & Grill, a sports-themed restaurant.
Locally owned, the restaurant will offer plenty of televisions for watching sports and other activities including cornhole, darts and other games; and a menu that says ‘it’s time for some football’. Open for lunch and dinner, the spacious dining room will also house a few pool tables.
The large building with plenty of outside dining on the long spacious back porch has been empty for two years, but with the new Publix already opened, it’s now a prime spot for a restaurant.
We can hardly wait.
When word broke on Tuesday morning over on our Facebook page, folks seemed quite happy about the new biz coming, and some voiced that they still miss Barbara Jean’s:
Nancy Nielsen said she’s “glad to see an empty building put to use instead of building a new one. We have to many empty sitting around the county.”
Betty G. Davis said, “so pleased to have something going in that building.”
Diane Benedict Gluck said, “Yeah!! So glad it will be a pub/restaurant & not sitting there deteriorating! Welcome Brody’s Pub!!”
Cindy Reid gleefully quipped, “Finally a SPORTS restaurant!”
