Beach lovers flock to Hunting Island for Memorial Day weekend

Beach lovers flock to Hunting Island for Memorial Day weekendBeautiful weather and highs in the 80s brought lots of beach goers and picnickers out to enjoy Hunting Island Beach over the Memorial Day Weekend. All three miles of our local beach were packed with folks celebrating the unofficial kick off to the summer season. Beach lovers flock to Hunting Island for Memorial Day weekend

In fact, enough people came and it was so crowded that State Park employees placed a Park Full sign at the entrance and turned everyone away for a time. The fact that it was high tide and that forced beach goers to amass on whatever swath of beach that mother nature left, had something to do with it.

Taking a stroll from the North Beach to the South Beach you’d easily find lots of sun worshipers enjoying the water as well as plenty of soccer and football games, countless kites, corn hole games, and the heavy aroma of many grill-masters hard at work.

Life is good in the Lowcountry.
