Rod Mattingly, a resident of Pigeon Point, has this to say about where he and his wife call home:  “We moved here from an historic town in New York. We lived in the Village of Pittsford which is over 200 years old with many old, beautiful homes and a small, quaint retail village. The Erie Canal runs right through the Village. Barbara and I love to walk and loved walking throughout the Village and along the Canal. Beaufort obviously has the same ambience with our amazing downtown and the Intracoastal running through and around it. Our home in Pigeon Point has all those great attractions within short walking distance. We also have our public boat landing and our perfect Pigeon Point Park, just a couple of blocks away. Our grandchildren love fishing off the landing’s dock and our little ones really enjoy the park.”

Pigeon Point Landing is a great spot to drop the boat in, or a fishing or crabbing line!ew“We also love the diversity of our wonderfully eclectic neighborhood. From the great homes bordering the Intracoastal, to the small rental or starter homes for young families – and everything in between – we have a lifestyle for anyone. Our neighbors are involved and caring; some are even a little eccentric! Why would anyone live anywhere else?”, Rod said.

Pigeon Point has experienced a spurt of growth over the past several years with newly built homes and renovations on current structures. Be sure to take a drive through this quaint area of Beaufort and discover it for yourself!
